Name: Shanna Birthday: 10/31/1990 Gender: Female
Interests: Well, I love all kinds of animals and anything to do with them. When I say this I'm excluding hunting and trapping for anything but in desperate need of food. Hunting for sport is pure cruelty and really quite pointless. ( If you really want to shoot stuff for fun they did create video games and waterguns for a reason you idjits.) Moving on, most of my interests would be found on my profile, a little long to put here. Expertise: Er....animals? I'm not really an expert at anything worthwhile, though I have fun doing a large variety of things. I'm pretty good with animals and alright as a writer and artist. Beach Bash 2005 was FUN! ( It happened yesterday, Friday, but I couldn't get online then. ) At 6:00 in the morning I got up and started to get ready for school, and left an hour and a quarter or so later. I met up with Becky, Tat, Grace, and Claudia on the bus ramp, waiting for the teachers and chaperones to allow us on the travel buses -ours was Grace's mum. When we boarded Tat and I sat on one side of the aisle with Grace and Becky opposite us. The Beach Bash was to happen at Moody Gardens in Galveston, and the trip would've been boring had Tat not brought her CD's and music player. Since I was grouped in Team 803, when we arrived at Moody Gardens we first went to the Aquarium Pyramid. Tatiana wanted to take so many pictures of everything she saw, I had to restrain her by switching backpacks. The gift shop charged prices derived of abosulte insanity, so as a souvenier I just pressed a penny with the picture of a jellyfish. Wish I did an octopus now, but no matter. In the pyramid we looked into these huge tanks full of sealife, most ugly no offense, and I got to touch a manta ray and a starfish. It was interesting, and I even found a fish that looked uncannily like Gus. =P After we finished we were supposed to go see an IMAX 3D movie about sharks. Since we sat in the back middle, everything that popped up on the screen looked like it was floating over the people beneath us. The narrator was a sea turtle, which was pretty funny in itself, but the movie was kinda boring. The turtle would say something breif about a marine species, then he would be quiet forever while they showed images of the animals swimming around while music was playing. I fell asleep three times.
After the IMAX we went to a rented area for the actual "Bash". In order to describe to you what is was like, I must first describe the setting. As soon as you walked into the gate, you were on this enormous raised and roofed patio-sort-of-thing, with restrooms and storage lockers on your right and a large food vending place on your left. Directly in front of the patio was a rounded crescent-shaped pool with steeping sides and a spouting mushroom structure in the middle. It was "connected" to a smaller pool lower and to the front of it by a rocky waterfall the lifeguards wouldn't permit anyone on. That pool was shallow and sort of boring, we only went in there once or twice. To the left of both pools was a large sandy terrace, with couples of beach loungers set under large blue umbrellas. To the left of that area was an octopus-shaped water playground made for kids. We weren't originally allowed to go over there, but so many people wandered there anyway that eventually a lifeguard was posted. Now back to the pools. To the right of the lower one, there was a large sand stretch that most kids played football on, and behind it were whirlpool hottubs and a sauna. To the right and behind of the higher one (the one with the mushroom) there was a fountain-area with gushing fixtures, two inflatable boxing rings, an inflatable log run and maze, and a volleyball court.
When Becky, Tat, and I got there we set up station under an umbrella and pulled in three more chairs to make a small circle in which we set our belongs and food. As we were eating Stephanie and Susanna joined us. After finishing our meal we changed into our swimsuits, and after that I can't exactly say all we did in order. We fooled around in the mushroom-pool, went several times on the octopus, made a huge S.O.S. sign in the sand, buried Becky, took a few dips in the hottubs, played Marco Polo in the maze, got dunked by buckets in the fountain area, went a go on the log run, played a game of catagory and VC, and took pictures of people doing each activity there was to do, and of course each other. That is a broad, broad generalization (about as broad as one can get and remain factual), yet it was a blast. If you want more details maybe Stephanie or Becky wrote about it on their Xangas. On the ride home I fell asleep breifly, and after saying my good-byes to everyone Mum picked me up and took me to Barnes and Noble. There I found the correct version of the 4th Ceres manga book, ordered a copy of the 11th, and finished reading the series .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet. It's a confusing series, and the ending didn't quite live up to what I expected. o.- I would've read more in the Alice 19th and Ima Doki series, but they didn't have the second book in either so I just read a book on exotic birds. Madre bought a book on website design, and after watching Numb3rs when I got home I fell asleep. :sighs happily: Good times.

Look guys, I found myself a new emoticon! This one isn't as cute as the one I had before, but she's still adorable. This week has been so much fun! And yes that includes the TAKS days. No, that doesn't include the actual hours I was testing. Since I have algebra on team 801 I got to spend the TAKS days with them. Stephanie, Susanna, and I had a lot of fun together. The first day I drew a picture for Susanna while the movie The Devil's Arithmatic was playing. The second and third days, after the TAKS we got into this large group with Chen, Jessica, Marc, Lauren, Charlie, and Matt and were playing Vietnamese Cards the whole time, over and over. It sounds dull, but I had a really good time. Thursday afternoon was induction practice for the NJHS Induction Ceremony, which was't too bad either. That Wednesday NJHS had a meeting I wasn't able to get into, and they decided a lot of stuff there, which had me annoyed. They voted on having a Star Wars Basket for the Sienna Golf Tournament in May to raise money for the school library. And here, let me clarify this as some people seem to be unjustly bias, which has been pissing me off. I was a little peeved at first because, well, primarily I missed an important NJHS meeting, but also I thought a Pet Basket was one of the pre-selected ballot choices that could've been voted for, and the reason it didn't win is because most of the people who would have voted for that weren't able to get into the meeting. Now I honestly have no problem with Star Wars (it's a classic I like myself), but -and no offense to anyone- on a personal level I would prefer caring for a fuzzy chubby puppy at the Golf Tournament than showing people Star Wars posters. But since a Pet Basket wasn't one of the pre-selected choices, I don't mind at all bringing in items for a Star Wars basket, ok?
Another thing I'm now looking forward to is Beach Bash. It cost a large amount of money to attend ($70), but I think I'm going to enjoy myself. The group I'm in so far has Grace, Becky, Tatiana, and Claudia. Everyone else on our team seems to either have a chaperone already or isn't going. It's sucks we can't invite people into our group from other teams. (I am grouped in team 803 since my advisory is on that team.) But they said after the IMAX movie we can mingle with whoever we want, so that doesn't matter too much. ^__^
On Thursday afternoon my brother and his friends played in our backyard, and when they left they didn't shut the gate. That night I let Casey out to use the restroom before I went to sleep, and it took me about 30-50 seconds to realize the gate wasn't shut. She's a border colie, and those are a fast breed, right? I chased her around our entire neighborhood circle, up and down 3 branching streets, past the main intersection, around my old elementary school, and through a main road that leads to the back of the neighborhood. It took almost an hour. All barefoot. On Friday I had blisters all over the bottoms of my feet, and even when I was only standing the pressure hurt. I'm fine now, two of them burst but the rest have started to form calluses. Fwoot!
I was surfing the web and found these two fairy pictures that remind me of me and Stephanie. (That is, if we were fairies. Duh.)

| I've been thinking of giving my xanga a new layout. Again. A summery theme would be awesome, and maybe I'll use a background picture again. o.-
School was fun today, despite the fact that I was so bloomin' tired I almost fell asleep on Jina during gym. Haha, after running Grace, Jina, and me were talking about cereal, and decided we were going to have a cereal party on one of the last days of school (Not the last day since after school me and Stephko are going on the roof, and Tatiana if she doesn't go to gymnastics that day. Anyone who wants to join us is more than welcome!!). After Lauren and Mulbah came inside I lost track of the conversation, too busy losing conciousness. When the whistle shrieked for everyone to go to the locker room, as always I was the first person from our "gym clique" to stand up, but when Grace tried to follow suit she overbalanced, grabbing me and Jina while she fell and banging all three of us into the bleachers. In Spanish we had to give our presentations on our "La casa de mis sueños" project, and I talked way too bloody fast. Also, when Charles asked how many rooms my house had, I knew that there were seven on the first floor and seven the second, and I knew that fourteen in Spanish is "catorce", but it took me an entire second to figure out what seven plus seven was. Sad. In art the clay "hive top" was bone-dry, and since it couldn't be changed or attached to Tat's pot I started to spin it on the table like a toy top. It got all shiny from the lead. Oh, and Justin moved from our table because he said we "wouldn't let him be mad". Eh?
I'm having artist's block. Not the kind where you can't think of anything to draw, because Stephanie and I made a huge list of stuff we can draw, but I can't seem to be able to finish my drawings. I have a bald armless schoolgirl on one page, and on the next I have a former slave who's missing an arm and the lower half of her body. Arm positions are strangly hard to think of. Oh! I came up with a "hook 'em longhorns" sign you can use on AIM. Maybe someone else came up with it first, but I thought it up unaided. \m/ Joy!

| You know, last time I posted I totally forgot to mention a brilliant April Fools' Day prank that me and several friends sprung on another one of us. The "victim" had no problem with me posting this, as long as I didn't mention any specific names. So, whee this'll be fun, I'm using codenames. I think there's only maybe 2 people other than myself who knows where I got these, but shh:
To give a bit of background information first, there was a gel named Kimri. She really really liked this guy named Proach, and was delighted when he asked her to date him. However (no offense if you read this Buddy) their relationship immediately started to lack intimacy, and soon they broke up. After that, Kimri was sorta.... paranoid. She got freaked out when her best friend Ferran loosely linked arms with Proach and several other friends while play-acting the Wizard of Oz. Yeah, you get the picture. So, for April Fools' Day, Ferran thought up a dastardly devious idea. Those who were involved included some of their other friends like Quasitel, Sehtuu, Kyrian, Nyrial, and two who had nothing to really do with it but knew about it, Zetsia and Halitar. The plan was to have Proach ask out Ferran for April fools' Day and for Ferran to say yes and tell Kimri about it. I can just say, it was like a mini atomic bomb. At lunch each of us took our regular posts, with Quasitel, Sehtuu, and Kyrian on one side of the lunch table while Nyrial, Ferran, and Kimri sat themselves at the other side. Kimri pretty much refused to eat, got extreemly p.o.'ed at Ferran, and pretty much reacted just the way we wanted her to. Then, a few minutes before lunch was over, Ferran, Sehtuu, Kyrian, and Quasitel all leaned over to Kimri and shouted "April Fool!" (Er.... :cough:.... Nyrial was kinda out of it and only looked up in time to see Kimri's face.) Kimri was absolutely stunned, and when she regained reality she.... howled? It was funny how good we got her. ^__^
So yeah that was it, now Ferran can stop punching me to post it. She should really get her own xanga. Last Saturday my little brother had his 11th birthday party. (no codenames needed now) Tim and Colin showed up along with Thomas' friends, and after pizza we all went to AMC. I bought a psychotic plastic fish, which by the way didn't float in the fountains outside the theater, while Thomas and his friends went to go see Robots, Mum, Colin, Tim, Jayj, and me went to see the movie Sahara. Well-made movie, but the plot was somewhat too predictable to enjoy any real moments of suspense. However we all still had fun.
Stephanie told me the name of the 11th Ceres volume is Maiden. Can't wait to get an opportunity to buy it. JJ owes me the first two volumes of a new manga series by Yu Watase I fell in love with: Ima Doki. Ha, when I showed Nick the picture on the cover of the first volume, he kept saying the main character looked like me only with short hair and smaller eyes. I dunno if that was directed as a compliment, insult, or both. o.- They always say guys are so frank and down-to-the-point, but I think some of them find fun in confusing people. :twitch: My day was taxing, so I'm going to end this entry now.
